I Vant To Bale Your Hay

I’ve been a nocturnal creature of late. We are cutting and baling alfalfa on the ranch, so I only bale when it is cool and damp. If you bale it up when it’s hot and dry all the leaves (and nutrition) fall off and you’re left with a big ball of un-yummy sticks.

Try feeding that to a cow and they’ll look at you and say “What am I? Chopped liver?”

It’s best not to answer that question.

So I work mostly after the sun goes down or right before it comes up, or everything in between. I feel like a vampire – except I don’t suck blood, I gather up grass. A vegetarian vampire, I guess.

Working all night, napping here and there in the afternoon and trying to squeeze in some computer work as well doesn’t leave much time for working out. I did do two kettlebell workouts this week.

Tuesday

30 seconds swings/30 seconds rest
x 20 minutes

Friday

10 2 hd sw (15/15)
20 2 hd sw (30/30)
10 2 hd sw (15/15)

10 tr (15/15)
20 tr (30/30
30 tr (45/45)
10 tr (15/up to 1 min rest)

10 tr (15/15)
1 sw, 1 tr x 10 (30/30)
10 tr (15/15)
1 sw, 1 tr x 10 (30/30)
2 sw/1 tr x 10 (45/45)
10 tr (15/up to 1 min rest)

This one is from Tracy Reifkind’s site. There are two extra sets I didn’t do, but my back started to tighten up so I cut it short. I used a 25# bell on both workouts. Neither one of them gassed me too much, but I was sweating like a wilderbeast by the time I was done.
